THE LAKE OF CANTERNO

Medium difficulty route along the paths of the Canterno Lake Nature Reserve.
Both shores are touched with suggestive views to be absolutely immortalized. So why not stop by the lake for a snack with typical products and then immerse yourself in the path
that crosses the entire Fiuggi wood in the shade of chestnut trees?
THE OLD RAILWAY

A real journey through time, retracing the journey that until a few decades ago covered a slow train with a few wagons that led workers and travelers from the Ciociaria countryside to the Eternal City.
The stretch that overlooks the valley between the towns of Piglio and Fiuggi is truly impressive. To welcome our passage, interminable olive groves and the famous vineyards of Cesanese wine, excellence of the area.
So stop at the Piglio station, a tasting of typical products and on the way back.
THE CASTLE OF FUMONE

Discovering one of the most characteristic villages in Italy, a castle that houses the highest hanging garden in Europe at over 800 meters above sea level.
It runs along the lake of Canterno, along the two sides, both on the outward and return journeys; once you get up in the village you cannot miss the appointment with taste: as soon as you cross the entrance arch to the village, an unmistakable scent of homemade desserts leads us to taste the typical donuts that the local baker has been cooking for years, accompanied by the sweet taste of Ratafìa, the famous sour cherry liqueur of ancient origins …
THE VILLAGE OF PORCIANO

A nice journey into the past, along the Prenestina Antica and the unspoiled landscapes of the Ciociara countryside; a passage up to the Acuto lake in the heart of the Ernici Mountains.
You cannot miss a curious look at the small village of Porciano, once the residence of the brigand Gasperone and now a peaceful fraction of the municipality of Ferentino. How not to look out from the pretty church of Sant’Erasmo and admire the bright blue of Lake Canterno below
